Vastu Vidya : the architecture and city planning of ancient India

Most people do not know that their home or workplace has a direct influence on their health and success. But many problems have their source in factors such as a wrong orientation or proportion of buildings.

The expression "vedic architecture" does not do justice to the profound knowledge of the ancient science of Sthapatya-Veda, contained in the formulas of Vastu Vidya. Sthapan means to establish, and Veda means knowledge. It is one of the disciplines of the Vedic tradition of ancient India, which is also the source of Ayur-Veda and Yoga. It is presently being brought back to light in a systematic way by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who has made Transcendental Meditation (the TM technique) popular worldwide.

Universal principles

Maharishi Sthapatya-Veda offers age-old, universal principles for human structures in harmony with the laws of nature : land management, city planning, architecture, landscaping, interior design.

MSV is applied in many countries by private owners and developers interested in building in harmony with the environment and concerned with the health, well-being and inner wakefulness of the inhabitants.

This seminar is open to all and will take place in the pleasant facilities of the Maharishi Institute in Geneva. For building and planning professionals, it will be an opportunity to study the precious traditional knowledge that underlies their field. It will allow participants to dive deep within the nature of reality as perceived by the sages of the Himalayas and to understand its practical implications for housing and city planning.

Each participant will receive a certificate of participation.

Personal meetings: participants with a concrete building project can benefit (at no extra cost) from a short interview with Mr. Skalski, for example to evaluate the land or to clarify the steps of building with the MSV consultation service, etc.

Main points :

Who is Dr. Skalski ?

Wojtek Skalski, DSCI and Maharishi Sthapatya-Veda expert, is coming directly from Finland to teach this unique seminar. Mr. Skalski has designed MSV buildings for Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Ukraine and Poland. He is presently designing an ideal village in Denmark according to Vastu principles.

His Veda house built for the 1999 Helsinki Housing exhibition became the Fair's main attraction and resulted in 50 press articles and media reports. Wojtek has travelled to many countries to teach the knowledge of Maharishi Sthapatya-Veda and his seminars are very much appreciated.

Dr. Skalski will teach in English ; a French translation will be provided on our cordless system.

Wojtek Skalski will be assisted by Leonard Stein, M.A. SCI, who has almost 30 years experience in the wisdom of ancient India. A high school teacher and a teacher of Transcendental Meditation (TM) since 1980, Mr. Stein has studied Vedic architecture and Ayur-vedic medicine in the context of his Masters degree in the United States.
